Patrick Brennan (Irish Health Insurance) - New Health Insurance Rules

We heard last July that then Minister for Health James Reilly had introduced changes to the rules around health insurance, and that from May 1st of 2015 people over 35 who buy health insurance for the first time would have to pay a higher premium.

May 1st is now getting close, and as expected the health insurance market is getting interesting. “Price War as Health Insurers Grab New Customers†is the cover story in today’s Irish Independent (Charlie Weston), which goes on to say that “the health insurance market is set for its biggest shake-up as insurers attempt to sign up thousands of people before new rules price them out of the market for ever.â€

Patrick Brennan of IrishHealthInsurance.ie spoke to Wendy about what to expect over the coming weeks.
