Stephanie Roche - 2014 FIFA Goal of the Year Nomination

Republic of Ireland international footballer Stephanie Roche speaks to Wendy from her new club in France about THAT goal which made the final shortlist of the 2014 FIFA Puskás Award for goal of the year, alongside World Cup goals from the Netherlands’ Robin van Persie and Colombia’s James Rodríguez.

Roche’s goal, which she scored in October last year playing for Irish Women’s National League side Peamount United, impressed voters from around the world and saw off competition from international male heavyweights such as Zlatan Ibrahimović and Diego Costa to make the final shortlist.
