Rosemarie Lawlor (OPW) - Flood Management Study

Earlier this year was the 1,000th anniversary of the Battle of Clontarf which has heightened our awareness of the influence the Vikings had on our history. And another thing that perhaps reminded us of our Viking heritage was the flooding that took place in many urban areas around the country in the last year, with many of our cities being sited on major rivers and beside the sea.

With so much talk of climate change, we suspect that flooding risks are not going away. Well, help is at hand, because there is a nationwide study underway to assess the flood risks and decide what are the best actions to take to protect against them.

Rosemarie Lawlor, Project Manager at the Flooding Section of the OPW spoke to Wendy about the findings in the latest study
