It’s been a bad couple of weeks for the charity sector, with the winding down of the suicide bereavement charity CONSOLE after revelations of alleged spending abuses by its Chief Executive (Paul Kelly), plus a court case involving the former CEO of the REHAB Group (Angela Kerins) reminding the public of the controversy that went on there a couple of years ago. Ivan Cooper, the Director of Public Policy at ‘The Wheel’ talks to Jackie about what can the charity sector do to restore confidence and ensure that lessons are learnt from controversies like this.
