We are in the jubilee year of mercy, and we know that mercy cannot be left in the realm of the spirituality alone. According to Pope Francis, mercy is a way of life for a Christian. It is said that mercy liberates, it gives courage, it brings light and it offers help. Bearing this in mind, the annual Irish Catholic Doctors Learning Network conference for 2016 titled “Healthcare in the Year of Mercy”took place last week at the Emmaus Centre, Swords, Dublin. Dr Niall Breslin, Consultant Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist at Tallaght hospital and the secretary of ICDLN speaks to Wendy about the conference.
