Recently MPs in the UK House of Commons debated a motion on whether violence in the Middle East directed at Christians, Yazidis and other minorities amounted to ‘Genocide’. The resulting vote was emphatic and sends out a strong signal to other countries, including Ireland, to sit up and take notice of what is happening in the region.
